The girls varsity lacrosse team suffered a 17-3 loss against T. C. Williams Friday night. Due to the spring music trip, several key varsity players were missing and four junior varsity players were moved up to guest with varsity.

In the first half of the game, the first  goal was scored by guesting varsity player sophomore Dowha Karar and the second scored by senior Caroline Do. With key defenders missing, the first half ended with a 10-2 score. In the second half, the Lady Raider’s third and final goal of the game was scored by freshman Lily Beres. The defense held slightly better this half, letting in only seven goals, leaving the final score 17-3.

“Despite missing several important varsity players, the defense held up the best they could. There was a lot of communication on the field which really aided us in preventing more goals being scored. The offense was more tough since T.C.’s defense was very good and we mostly just had to pick up the ground balls and sprint to the goal,” said Karar.

The team looks to bounce back from this loss when it plays Robert E. Lee on April 22 at home.
