The Raiders suffered a loss to Hayfield on a rather brisk Tuesday night. The greater sum of the game was played under stadium lights for it started at roughly 7:20. The Hawks earned their win, albeit Stuart played fairly well. The Raiders allowed only a single goal in the the first half though the final score was 5-0  in the Hawks’ favor.

Hayfield played an excellent match with senior Kwudu Dwamena scoring a hat trick, adding three goals to his current goal-tally of 13. Junior center back James Ford-Lane serviced the the Raiders well; he and many others kept the game competitive. Sophomore Edison Giron also played strongly and aggressively, testing the goalkeeper frequently. Stuart came fairly close at the scoring at certain intervals throughout the game. Defense was strong for the most part, although Hayfield’s counter attacks proved to be a challenge for the entire team. Hayfield is ranked the 10th best team in the area for boys’ soccer by the Washington Post. The game was covered by the paper the following day.
