Though summer is still in its end days, Stuart had a head start to the back-to-school season by hosting the Stuart Pyramid Resource fair on August 19.

A first time event for Stuart, the fair had “organizations [that] assisted more than 4,000 students with preparing for their school year by providing a community-based fair to deliver school supplies, medical assessments, clothing, haircuts, and an introduction to community resources available for FCPS students,” according to event’s website. “There are over 56 exhibitors,” said volunteer Sarah Shannon.

One of these resources was an opportunity for parents to sign up to the new grading system that allows parents to access up to date information on their child’s grades.

The fair also had 140 volunteers to assist the attendees from the Stuart Pyramid community.

According to the fair’s website, the event hopes to continue in the future.“Our goal is to make this an annual event so all FCPS students arrive at school prepared to learn!”
